Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting to follow up on the position of preparing the draft law to establish the Egyptian Council for Medical Specialties, as a public service body that reports to the President of the Republic, replacing the Egyptian Authority for Compulsory Training of Doctors, established by Prime Minister Decree No. 2010 of 2016.
The meeting was attended by Counselor Omar Marwan, Minister of Justice, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, Nevin Jameh, Minister of Trade and Industry, Adviser Alaa Fouad, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Adviser President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, Major General Baha Zaidan, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Supply and Medical Supplies, Dr. Tamer Essam, President of the Egyptian Drug Authority, and officials of the concerned authorities.
During the meeting, the vision for the establishment of the Egyptian Council for Medical Specialties was reviewed, which aims for the council to work on drawing policies for the medical sector, and in full coordination with all bodies that work in the health system, whether the Ministry of Health, or university hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education, in addition to the hospitals of the armed forces. The police and the private sector, setting the general policy for the health system at the level of the republic, and the plans to achieve it according to specific time stages, in light of the general policy and national plans of the state. Activity in the health field, with the aim of achieving cooperation, harmony and integration between all parties.
The vision of establishing the Egyptian Council for Medical Specialties aims to give a strong impetus to the fields of human development for health service providers, and the system for training doctors, through the implementation of a firm and clear plan to improve professional training and continuous training, in addition to training the health team in its various specialties, and evaluating and evaluating this health team, with Setting standards and accrediting the institutions in which the health team is trained and accrediting the trainers, and unifying methods and methods of training to provide a safe and standard health service.
During the meeting, it was emphasized to support and strengthen the Egyptian Authority for Compulsory Training for Doctors to fulfill the role assigned to it, and the role to be played by the Egyptian Council for Medical Specialties, until the relevant law and its executive regulations are issued, with the immediate start of specific implementation measures towards the existence of a unified professional certificate.
